Welcome to Art on Clay, a creative workspace founded by me, Colleen, an engineer by degree and aspiring elementary school teacher. I have always had a deep love for art and a desire to share that passion with others. I am thrilled to offer a space where people of all ages can explore their creativity and learn new skills.

I love working with both children and adults, and I am committed to instilling a love of art and confidence to create in anyone who wants to explore their artistic side.

Instructor

I have served as a teacher in the Visual Arts and as a school Principal and Superintendent during my 44 years dedicated to students and learning.

Working with my high school students in the areas of printmaking, stained glass, painting, and various other studio areas was immensely satisfying, motivating, and I found a real love in helping my students learn about and create art.

It’s certainly difficult to “take the girl out of the art room” however, highlights of my later work in school administration also focused on Visual Arts.

What better way to enjoy retirement than by once again immersing myself in creating and teaching others about art at Art on Clay? I especially enjoy using underglaze decoration on my ceramics, and as you can see from examples of my artwork, flowers are a source of subject matter in my artworks.

Instructor

Tanner’s passion for the art of ceramics took root on the West Coast, where he began his ceramic journey. During his time there, he gained valuable experience in building kilns and crafting pottery equipment from scratch making glazes, as well as teaching.

Tanner returned to his roots in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to further his education. He pursued his academic endeavors at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics, Sculpture, Art History, and Arts Education.

Tanner Teipel has been a steady figure in the world of visual arts. His dedication to teaching and inspiring students is evident through his more than 20 years of experience as an educator. Currently, he holds the position of a high school art teacher at Whitefish Bay High School, where he continues to share his passion for ceramics, sculpture, and art history, enriching the lives of budding artists under his guidance.

Integrative Health Coach / Instructor

Kerri embodies the essence of Art On Clay as an unwavering supporter, instructor, and creative force.

As an instructor, she possesses the remarkable ability to ignite sparks of inspiration within those she encounters.

Having initially established herself as a Speech Pathologist, Kerri's path evolved as she explored various avenues of holistic well-being. Her years of therapeutic practice served as a foundation for her expansive journey, leading her to venture into the realm of health and wellness coaching. Today, she stands as a board-certified health and wellness coach, empowering others to lead balanced and fulfilling lives.

She is a masterful connector of people. Her natural talent for bringing individuals together, fostering a sense of community, and creating supportive networks is unparalleled

Instructor - Masters Degree in Art

Ann has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Printmaking from UE-EauClaire and a Master in Art Education from the U of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. She is a certified K-12 Art Educator and has taught students at every level including adults for the past 35 years. She is a practicing artist and is currently teaching seniors at an independent living facility.

Annie is a master of explicit instruction and process. Her approach to pottery is both methodical and creative. She has a knack for breaking down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps.
